On 1 February 2020, UNU-IAS and Wetlands International Japan will co-organise a symposium to observe World Wetlands Day (WWD) 2020. The theme for 2020 WWD is “Wetlands and Biodiversity”. Celebrated every year on 2 February, WWD marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the same day in 1971.
