International Day for Biological Diversity: Mainstreaming Biodiversity

On 21 May 2016, UNU-IAS, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) and the Global Environmental Outreach Centre (GEOC) will organize the public symposium Mainstreaming Biodiversity: Sustaining People and their Livelihoods with Mori, Sato, Kawa, Umi to celebrate the UN International Day for Biological Diversity(IDB).


Economics for People and the Planet — Saviour or Problem?

On 16 March 2016, a memorial symposium for Prof. Hirofumi Uzawa will be held at UNU headquarters in Tokyo. The symposium will commemorate Prof. Uzawa’s contributions to the field of economics, and will feature a keynote lecture by Nobel prize-winning economist Prof. Joseph Stiglitz.
