Economics for People and the Planet — Saviour or Problem?

On 16 March 2016, a memorial symposium for Prof. Hirofumi Uzawa will be held at UNU headquarters in Tokyo. The symposium will commemorate Prof. Uzawa’s contributions to the field of economics, and will feature a keynote lecture by Nobel prize-winning economist Prof. Joseph Stiglitz.

International Day for Biological Diversity: Connecting and Supporting Forests, the Countryside, Rivers and the Sea

On 30 May 2015, UNU-IAS, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) and the Global Environmental Outreach Centre (GEOC) will organize the public symposium Connecting and Supporting Forests, the Countryside, Rivers and the Sea to celebrate the UN International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB).
