20 Oct. : Achieving SDG 13: Climate Change & the Republic of Kiribati

This symposium will explore such challenges with invited representatives from the Kiribati government and an NGO. It will also include a presentation on the UNU-IAS Low-Carbon Technology Transfer Project and will discuss partnerships to accelerate the commitment to SDG 13 and the Paris Agreement. Also, a poster exhibition on the SDGs will be on display.

SDG Panel Exhibition: Sophia United Nations Week

A panel exhibition on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), “Our World of Partnership”, will be jointly held by Sophia University, the Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC) and the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) at Sophia University.

To celebrate World Food Day and raise awareness of Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns), UNU-IAS and the Global Environmental Outreach Centre (GEOC) will host a movie night featuring “Wastecooking“, a 2015 German documentary.

13 May : Symposium on Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism: Discussing Interpretation of National Parks

UNU-IAS, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ), the Association for Interpretation Japan, and the Global Environmental Outreach Centre (GEOC) will organize a public Symposium on Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism: Discussing Interpretation in National Parks to celebrate the UN International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB).
